CEO and President

Michael Argir brings a deep understanding of the healthcare facilities management industry and nearly 25 years of leadership experience to Medxcel, having served in a variety of facilities-related operational and executive roles within respected healthcare organizations throughout his career. Michael has a strong track record of building top-producing teams and organizations that deliver optimal results with the ability to develop and build strong client relationships. He also has a history of developing people to maximize efficiency while delivering strong operations, service quality, growth and positive financial outcomes.

Prior to joining Medxcel Michael served in leadership roles for various facilities management companies. Michael began his career working in support services at individual hospitals and truly knows what it takes to improve the healthcare environment for patients and staff.

Michael holds an Executive MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College, Springfield MA.

Chief Financial Officer

Jason Scheidler has more than 15 years experience in building value for organizations in diverse market segments. 

Prior to joining Medxcel, Jason served as the senior director of accounting services for Ascension where he established the strategic direction for the accounting services function of the Ministry Service Center, defining goals and objectives that aligned with the overall strategy. Prior to his experience with Ascension, he served as controller for ADESA. 

Jason earned a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University and a Masters of Professional Accountancy from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. 

General Counsel

John brings more than 20 years of deep business and legal leadership experience in the medical management and medical finance industry.
 
Prior to joining Medxcel, John served as Vice President & General Counsel for American Neuroscience Investments, LLC and was previously General Counsel & Vice President of Operations for U.S. Medical Management Investments. In addition, John has held a variety of board positions including most recently at the Memphis Regional Gamma Knife Center.

John earned Bachelors' degrees in Economics and Psychology from Indiana University Purdue University, Masters' degrees in Marketing and Business Administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and graduated magna cum laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Chief Operating Officer

Matthew Keahey serves as Chief Operating Officer for Medxcel. In this role, Matthew oversees the implementation, quality and overall operational management of our facilities services for hospitals throughout the U.S.

Matthew has more than 20 years of experience in facilities management directing large complex facility organizations, negotiating contracts, leading sales teams and developing strong client relationships. His responsibilities include managing Medxcel’s proprietary integrated service delivery model while focusing on customer relations and strategic development.

Prior to joining Medxcel, Matthew worked for 11 years at Aramark Corporation as a Regional Director and Vice President of Facilities Services and also served as Senior Manager for 10 years at Federal Express. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Management and Organizational Behavior and holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Strategic Management from the University of Memphis in Tennessee.

Chief Information Officer

JD brings more than 20 years of IT experience and leadership and has led development, delivery and support of advanced technology solutions for national and global organizations.

Prior to joining Medxcel, JD served as Eli Lilly and Company’s global IT service manager and was previously the director of enterprise IT services for Ascension Health.

JD graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Columbus College of Art and Design and earned his MBA graduating summa cum laude from Indiana Wesleyan University.He is also a member and participant in several industry organizations including Healthcare Information And Management Systems Society (HIMSS), College Of Healthcare Information Management Executives (Chime) and itSMF USA.

Vice President, Human Resources

Casey Garamoni brings over 15 years of experience to Medxcel where she is responsible for the entire human resources function including developing and implementing strategies for talent development, acquisition, and HR services.

Prior to Medxcel Casey served in a variety of HR leadership roles, delivering results in the areas of associate relations, talent management, organizational development and succession planning.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-law and Management from Indiana University, and Master’s in Human Resources Management from Purdue University.

Vice President, Corporate Support Services

Sara Barker has 15 years’ experience as a driven professional in the supply chain, sourcing and procurement industry. Sara currently serves as Vice President, Corporate Support Services for Medxcel where she is responsible for the oversight and operational performance of key corporate support divisions. Sara also participates in Medxcel’s executive team to achieve growth initiatives, strategic goals and support other critical functions.

Previously, Sara served as Director of Supply Chain for Medxcel where she guided the growth platforms and processes for sourcing, procurement, logistics, contract administration, risk mitigation and vendor service management. Sara also has experience as a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Medxcel where she led sourcing strategies for facilities services, project services and facility materials which delivered cost reduction, business process improvements and supplier risk mitigation with focus on quality and compliance.

Prior to joining Medxcel, Sara served as the Manager of Special Procurement at Ascension Health where she was responsible for the implementation and management of standardized processes within the non-contract spectrum. Sara earned a Bachelor’s degree from Erskine College in Due West, S.C. 
 

Vice President, Field Support Services

Eric is a seasoned facilities management, construction and emergency services leader with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. As Vice President, Field Support Services at Medxcel, Eric is responsible for the oversight and operational performance of support divisions and participates on the executive team to achieve growth initiatives, strategy and other functions.

Previously, Eric served as Area Vice President for Medxcel where he oversaw facilities management services for hospital sites throughout the U.S. Eric also has experience as a Facilities Regional Director where he led facilities management team(s) in a health system covering 20 hospitals in central and southern Indiana. Eric formerly held various facilities management, construction and emergency service roles with Seaside Fire & Rescue, Providence Seaside Hospital, Via Christ Hospitals, and Resourcing Services of Atlanta.

Eric holds an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from Clatsop Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and an MBA from Purdue University Global. He has several industry certifications including: Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), and Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP).

Vice President, Emergency Management, Environment of Care and Safety

Scott Cormier has more than 30 years of experience in emergency preparedness, health and safety, and counterintelligence operations.

Prior to joining Medxcel, Scott served as the Senior Director of Emergency Preparedness and Management for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), the largest private healthcare provider in the world. 

Scott earned a Bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State College. He has been published in nearly 20 scholarly journals, and holds more than 20 professional certifications, including Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional, Department of Homeland Security Certified Instructor, Weapons of Mass Destruction Instructor and EMT-Paramedic Instructor.

Vice President, Strategic Planning and Sustainability

Dan Scher brings deep experience in strategy and facilities with a focus on healthcare and utility industries.  As Vice President, Strategic Planning and Sustainability he is responsible for leading master planning, facility design and the sustainability program.

Through his experience, Dan successfully established an energy efficiency program for a large national catholic health system and served as a founding and steering committee member of the United States Department of Energy’s Hospital Energy Alliance from 2009 to 2012.

Prior to joining Medxcel, Dan served in a variety of roles for Numeroff Consulting, RehabCare Group, Missouri-American Water Company and Burns & McDonnell Engineering.

Dan received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Missouri – Columbia.  He also received a Master’s in Business Administration from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. 

Vice President, Planning, Design and Construction

Mike Wood brings nearly 35 years of leadership experience with unique diverse strategic and operations experience in the healthcare sector.  In his role as Vice President, Planning, Design and Construction, Mike is responsible for the creation, direction, organization and administration of Medxcel's national construction portfolio.  

Prior to joining Medxcel, Mike served as President and CEO of Impact! Consulting, LLC and held various leadership roles at Oldcastle Building Solutions and Heery International, Inc. 

Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management (BBA) from The Evergreen State College and a Masters of Science in Management and Organizational Development from Regis University.  He currently serves as the President of the Association of Medical Facility Professionals and is the Immediate Past President for CAHED and IFMA Health Care Institute. 

Vice President, Finance

Derek French brings nearly 20 years of finance experience to his role as Vice President, Finance for Medxcel.  In his role, Derek is responsible for driving the financial results of the organization by utilizing analytics, financial reporting, and pricing strategies as a tool to drive revenue growth, generate improved margins, lower costs, and continuously improve processes while preserving the integrity of the company's image.

Prior to joining Medxcel, Derek spent 10 years on Wall Street in various Leadership and Financial Planning and Analysis roles with Dreyfus and Lehman Brothers before becoming the Vice President of Finance for Fifth Third Bank Indiana. While at Fifth Third, Derek helped lead the affiliate to become the #1 performing affiliate in the country.

Derek holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from Plattsburgh State University and an MBA in Finance and Investments from Fordham University. In addition, Derek is a current board member and previous Treasurer for the ALS Association of Indiana.

Vice President, Real Estate

Ron Brown has over fourteen years of healthcare facilities management, construction and real estate experience.  He currently serves as the Vice President, Real Estate, leading Medxcel’s Real Estate portfolio strategy in property acquisition, leasing, disposition, asset management and lease management.

Prior to his current role, Ron held several leadership positions in the commercial real estate arena where he played a key role in centralizing real estate operations for a national portfolio of 12M+ square feet of leased and 26M+ square feet of owned property.

Ron earned a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Connecticut and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Haven. He was recently designated a Certified Commercial Investment Member by the CCIM Institute, a professional designation held by fewer than ten percent of commercial real estate investors and advisors, and he also holds a real estate sales license in the State of Connecticut.
 
 

VP, Operations

Carla Shade brings over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to her role as VP, Operations for Medxcel. Since joining Medxcel in 2016, Carla has demonstrated excellence in the areas of operations, customer service, and regulatory and compliance, resulting in numerous market awards.

Prior to her work with Medxcel, Carla held a variety of leadership positions including Regional Director of Operations, Regional Director of Emergency Management and Safety, Regional Emergency Management Officer, Safety Officer, and positions in Ambulatory Management, Community Affairs, and Regulatory and Compliance.

Carla received her Bachelor’s Degree from Spelman College and is a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional. She holds additional certifications from NFPA, FEMA, DOT, ADLS, and BLS.

VP, Operations

Michael Burgett brings 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare arena in North America where he has held positions in construction and design, site selection, facilities management, capital equipment sales and both operational and customer development.

Prior to joining Medxcel, Michael held senior leadership roles for three healthcare companies; BD (formerly CareFusion and International Dispensing Solutions), GE Healthcare and Mindray Medical International.  He has demonstrated operational excellence and has been recognized and awarded on multiple occasions for lowest percentage of employee turnover, highest profitability and developing tools to help manage the customer relationship. 

Michael earned a Bachelors and Masters of Public Administration from Ball State University as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana University.  He holds professional licensing from the American Hospital Association as a Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) and is a licensed real estate broker in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana and Massachusetts.  Michael also serves on numerous 501c3 boards throughout North America. 

VP, Operations

Chris Soop has nearly 20 years of experience in operations and facilities management. He is skilled in developing and maintaining a broad vision, cultivating excellent customer relationships, and communicating effectively to build focused and productive teams. Before accepting the role as VP, Operations, Chris served as Regional Director of Operations for Medxcel in Michigan where he established a strong valued customer relationship within the region, resulting in a significant increase in customer satisfaction survey responses.  
 
Prior to joining Medxcel, Chris held a senior level position at Crothall Service Group, starting his career as a Director of Facility Services.  He advanced to serve as the Administrator of Support Operations, overseeing the departments of facilities, housekeeping, food services, safety, construction, clinical engineering and patient transport.

Chris graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and holds a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) certification.
